How do I pay a Creator?

I just donated $100 to someone I appreciate. The process is so easy and smooth.

  • To send a payment in Clubhouse, just tap on the profile of a creator (who has the feature enabled) and tap "Send Money".

  • Enter the amount you would like to send them. The first time you do this, you’ll be asked to register a credit or debit card.

  • 100% of the payment will go to the creator. The person sending the money will also be charged a small card processing fee, which will go directly to our payment processing partner, Stripe. Clubhouse will take nothing.

How do I set up mine?

*Reminder: starting with a small “beta” test group right now

What about Apple’s App Store?

How to make “the ask”?

  • Be forthright: “I’m accepting donations / contributions / tips.”

  • Be transparent: “Position it as a win for the audience. ‘Help me reinvest…in my channel, to buy better gear, to hire better talent…” - Jon

  • Be consistent: “Keep building on what you’re already doing. Continue to request people follow club and speakers.” - Kat

  • Be a team player: “If someone on stage said a joke you like, please tip them. This is an app for creators, and we’re all creators here.” - Nicole

  • Be real: “There’s nothing wrong with talking about money!”

  • Be thankful: “Say ‘Thank you for the donation.”

Please consider.

  • “At first it will feel great to say ‘thank you’ and show love to each other. But watch yourself as you make the jar jingle. If you bother the group, it will let you know intensely.” - Eric

  • “I already see people’s minds going that this will be fun and positive. Negative things will self select.” - John

  • “Humans are going to human. Some will gamify, abuse it, and exploit people. So, vote with your feet. Don’t amplify the room.” - Kat
